The sonic template of this album came from Dixon Hill's lifetime of crate digging, parsing 100's of hours of courtroom audio, and carefully arranged instrumentation. The lyrics are given life in the mind, pen, and voice of a legendary Detroit rap king. Guilty Simpson and Dixon Hill bring an unmatched work ethic to their music, resulting in a tightly packed meta-hardcore rap opus.

The record also features a dream collaboration with Lil' Fame of MOP and Kool G Rap.

The LP includes the entire 'Actus Reus' project & instrumentals.

Dixon Hill had spent years prior honing his craft as multiinstrumentalist
and avid record collector. Dixon Hill creates beats with grit and heart, resulting in dense musical textures evoking his idols, Pete Rock, Large Professor and Dilla.

A stalwart of the Detroit underground Hip-Hop scene, Guilty Simpson has lent his voice to classic productions from the likes of J Dilla, Madlib, and Apollo Brown. His candor and lyrical dexterity are well known and respected. Guilty's lyrics span from grief stricken lamentations to vitriolic attacks tightly packed into 7 bump-worthy tracks on 'Actus Reus'. Detroit's native son is a true threat on the mic, and he makes it clear on this project.
